December 23, 2003 By: Tim Baker Durham CC Education ITSS selects Gemini Help Desk to support over 400 schools“We want to resolve a much higher percentage of calls at the first level of contact, thereby providing a more responsive service, whilst enabling us to deal with a larger volume of calls,” states Brian Whitehead, Head of ITSS. “We believe that Gemini will play a major part in helping us to achieve this.” The service is amalgamating three support operations in order to provide a single point of contact for all IT issues. Previously, support for curriculum computing (i.e. classroom PCs), management computing (i.e. PCs used for schools administration) and engineering repairs and technical support, was provided by three separate teams using Uniserve, Richmond Help Desk and an in-house developed Access system.
