OTG Voice Biometrics automated help desk application awarded entrust ready designation

OTG announced its E-Help Desk v2.1 automated help desk application has achieved the Entrust Ready designation. E-Help Desk uses voice verification technology to enable users to easily and securely recover their Entrust profile over the telephone without live assistance from help desk personnel. Profile recovery is performed in the event a password is forgotten or a profile is lost.

Many levels of government and international commercial organizations are rapidly deploying enhanced Internet security infrastructures and of great concern to all is the on-going administration of digital identities. An organization that requires over 50,000 Digital IDs for its Enterprise Security deployment would on average assume two help desk calls per user per year. At a cost of $25 per call, help desk administration could potentially cost an organization $2.5 million annually. By deploying self-service profile recovery options such as E-Help Desk or Entrust’s web-based Entrust Authority™ Self-Administration Server, resources allocated to on-going PKI administration are greatly reduced.

E-Help Desk’s customizable functionality and scalable architecture can work with Entrust Authority Security Manager to assist with initial certificate registration, provide continuous automated administrative support and meet the needs of future growth.

The Entrust Ready designation applies to products that have been tested for compatibility and interoperability with Entrust's market-leading enhanced Internet security solutions. This relationship confirms Entrust’s commitment to delivering solutions with partners that add complementary solutions to enhanced security to solve real world business concerns.

"E-Help Desk easily integrates with Entrust Authority software and offers customers the choice of either a voice verification or Web-based self-registration and recovery,” said Charlene Acres, director, Partner Solutions, Entrust, Inc. “The combination provides users with a convenient method of deploying, recovering and self-administering their profiles.”

The technical integration between OTG and Entrust provides current and future Entrust Authority customers with an enhanced help desk facility. “Voice biometrics has been accepted with confidence as a secure, easy-to-use method of identity verification. We are all familiar with using phones for business and personal use and their universal availability makes access to the E-Help Desk application very convenient.”, said OTG’s President, Mark Kovalsky. “E-Help Desk secures the certificate registration process and at the same time provides users with the capability to recover their profile when they forget their password. As we all know, forgetting a password is common practice."
